The Friends of the Paul Sawyier Public Library is a group of community volunteers committed to supporting the library. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. (Board Information) Contributions are tax-deductible.

—How We Support Our Library—


Manage and staff the Lilian Lindsey Bookstore

Hold several large book sales each year

Fund the summer reading program for children and adults

Fund the scholarship program for high school seniors

Provide supplementary funding for guest speakers, musical performances, and other special programs open to our community.

Assist library staff, when needed, with events

Purchases to support the library have included:  two vehicles for the library outreach program, stage for events, portable exhibition panels, materials for children’s section, two original Paul Sawyier paintings and other art for the library (to list just a few)

Donate books to local community organizations, hospitals, and Little Free Libraries

Support library staff through funding for continuing education and appreciation gifts

Coordinated fundraiser to save Humpty “Eggcited” sculpture

Update Friends members on library programs/events, and bookstore news

Advocate for libraries at both local and state levels

Received the Friends of
Kentucky Outstanding Library Chapter award in 2017.

Join the Friends of Paul Sawyier Public Library!

Members help support the library, enjoy early access to book sales, and receive a 10% bookstore discount. Yearly membership is only $5 individual, $10 family, $3
senior/student.
